“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
―Winston Churchill
We are now in the last week of our annual Turkey Challenge. To those who
have already contributed, and many have graciously and generously, we
thank you immensely. For those who haven’t yet, we ask that you consider
what you can. As of today we are about $1,000 short of last year’s effort.
That is understandable given these unprecedented times and we’re confident
our typical late push will put us over the hump. However the need is profound
and unfortunately this year there is no match from a local retailer to double
what we are able to give.
This Saturday, November 21 st , Knights of Columbus, Council 50 will host
a drive through Chicken Wing fundraiser from 3-5pm at the club, 371
Washington Rd, Enfield, CT. For a $10 donation (please consider more if
you can) we will distribute a container of wings. We are also accepting
donations of frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items. Proceeds
will benefit the Enfield Food Shelf.
In a year unlike any other, our calling as a benevolent organization whose first
principal is charity, has never been needed more. We thank you for your
consideration and send our best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving
to you and yours!
“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.
But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
–Mother Teresa
